Barbara Lazarou is an experienced educator, author, researcher, and advocate with decades of international experience in gifted education and special education. She holds degrees in Political Science, Special Education, and Gifted Education. Her doctoral research at the University of South Florida focuses on gifted education, with an emphasis on twice-exceptional (2e) learners. Throughout her career, Barbara has worked with gifted learners across elementary and secondary settings and has been involved in gifted education through teaching, program development, professional learning, research, writing, and advocacy. She is passionate about ensuring that gifted learners are recognized for their strengths, provided with appropriate opportunities to develop their potential, and supported when their needs are not readily visible. As a board member, she brings extensive classroom experience, research expertise, and a strong commitment to advancing understanding and access to appropriate gifted education.
